Yung Texxus - The Savior
In 2005, Texx gained national exposure in “The Source Magazine” and went on to drop a slew of underground smashes such as “Drank in My Cup”, “I Gits the Money" ft. Big Hood Boss, Tum Tum (DSR/Universal) and “Still in Love with my Ex (Remix)” with Kelly Rowland. His work with D.J. Scream on “Believe the Hype” placed him at the forefront of underground Southern Hip-Hop. Since 2005 you may have seen Yung Texxu$ pop up in magazines, Hip-Hop DVD’s, or websites, but for now the rest of his tale has yet to be written. At many times Texx finds himself walking the thin line between the streets and music. Enveloped by the underworld he can’t leave and trapped by his obsession to ascend to the heights of Hip-Hop royalty, Texx is currently working on his debut album “The Underground Prince”, scheduled for release in 2007. Only time will tell how his saga will end.

Yung Texxus: I would have to say My Family. I do my music for them, i want to provide them with the lifestyle i think they deserve. I come from nothing but hard times, so thats all i know. Im built for this shit! Where other niggas whithered and Died, thats where i survived. I also want my life to have meaning. I want to be remembered when im gone. I want niggas to look back at the things i've accomplished and be like "Damn, he really made it"..lol
illRoots: If you were to work with one artist that isn't hip-hop or R&B who would it be? and why?
Yung Texxus: Good Question....lol..hmmmm..let me think. I could git down wit Fall Out Boy...I just dig what they do...lol..I always wanted to perform with a band.

illRoots: What is the hardest part of your everyday schedule?

Yung Texxus: I wouldn't say my days are hard..maybe long. (No homo) ..lol....But shit, I live in the moment. If I feel like writting a record, I write, If i like smoking a blunt, or drinking a beer I do it. My life's actually pretty simple.
illRoots: Now every interview they always ask who your influences were well I'm gonna change that if I were to ask you "How can you influence Hip-Hop? what would you say?
Yung Texxus: I would say i would influence hip hop by just being myself. Im not tryna be something I'm not. I know the fans hear this all the time, however, What i rap about is what i truly do! Im not afraid to express myself, or share my inner feelings with my listeners. I'm also not afraid to try new and different things, I think im one of the most versatile up and coming artists! In 2005 "The Source magazine" Qouted in My Unsigned hype article. " There's a new breed of MC taking over the industry, Including some one who can switch up flows and styles faster than you can turn the lights on" Most of My Fans have Never met me, But They all feel like they know me. I just keep it Trill in my music.
