Oompa Loompa Promo- Chaunce Clothing
Last weekend my homie Rick Chyme and I shot out to D.C. to peep the deal with this Million DJ March event. The drive was long as hell and Rick is directionally challenged so I had to drive the whole damn way! 11hrs! We get there and are trying to link up with Dj Dub Floyd. Turns out Dub was involved in a car accident and he was lost. We were lost too. Anyway, long story short, Dub was all good, we found the hotel, and were bout to head out to the march. Well, Murphy and his law must have been riding with us all day because we find out that the event has changed locations due to weather and that alot of the people slated to participate opted out when the venue switched. Great! I'm a hustler and I always make the best out of each and every situation so we headed out and decided to get our networking game on.
We got to the new venue and the performances had just recently ended. Most people were still there chillin' out front. A few press peeps, bunch of local MC's, the event coordinator, and a few well known artists/mc's. I went into networking mode and was able to politic with everyone that mattered. Rick stepped into the freestyle cipher that had formed and immediately was blowing peoples wigs back. Real talk, at one point or another, every cat that was there came up to me and Rick to either tell us Chaunce Clothing was on point or to tell us that Rick was real nice with his words.
Flex & Damu The Fudgemunk in Chinatown in Washington, D.C. on the street.
We eventually linked up with an MC by the name of Flex Mathews. Hit his myspace and show him some love. He has skills for real. Plus the kid is crazy bananas just like us and he fit right in. He has worked with Damu The Fudge Munk and various other producers. I personally watched him quiet the whole cipher with an 'off the top' freestyle. I see you Flex!! How was those $12 shrimps fam?!? Hahahahah.
Besides Rick Chyme and Flex Mathews, none of the other mc's could stand up next to them. Rick Chyme dropped some knowledge for the cipher and cats were real impressed with the 6'-5" white boy with the big ass red beard that will melt your face off with his lyrical skills. If you dont believe me, download the mixtape right here on illRoots or go to dudes myspace.
We already got some projects being mapped out with Rick and Flex. Stay tuned for those.
Later that night we hit up one of D.C's hottest clubs and held down the VIP with The Target Squad, a mixtape squad. By the end of the night we had all the bartenders rockin Chaunce Gear, we flyer'd the place up, held down VIP and spent WAY too much money on drinks!! It was a worth while night to say the least!! D.C. is my new city. If you havent been, go now. The women are beautiful! Be easy illRoots.
One,
Samuel Storm
