Sic Osyrus - Life Of Mine (Ft. D. Malone)
Sic Osyrus is a Philadelphia resident but has been poised to make an impact in the industry for quite some time with a solid foundation behind him and a work ethic to back it up he should be doing well this time next year. We recently sat down with him to speak on a few topics and to just catch up.illRoots.com: Whats up Sic Osyrus? For those new to the name, give the people some background.
Sic Osyrus: What's good people, my name is Sic Osyrus, from Philly. Lay my head in New York, been a couple places, putting this work in, smashed out on over 80 mixtapes in the last 12 months. Just featured in the last "Source Mag" (with TI on the cover) Just dropped my mixtape "Sic-o-nomics 3." Last but not least, we just shot the "Spit Your Game" for B.E.T, IMG stand up!
iR: You have been on a serious grind over the last 12 months, 80 plus mixtapes, major press and performances, and most recently your 'Off The Radar' feature in The Source, how does it feel to be recognized for your talent and work ethic?

SO: It's motivating, like smelling food, makes me want it more! But honestly I am happy our movements are always forward, we have a lot more in store for the fans
iR: You recently dropped a video for 'Everydays A Battle', really big, theatrical power anthem with a grimey feel, yet it still had a message. What were you trying to get across in this song and how did the video help?

SO: Yeah, that was a big look for me. The message I was trying to get across in that video is that everyday is a battle and if you treat it as anything else, you will lose.
iR: I heard you just dropped 'Sic O Nomics' Vol 3; Money Off The Radar hosted by Bedtyme357, how will this differ from previous volumes and who are some of the producers and artists you collaborated on the CD?

SO: On this CD, the artists I collaborated with are Drawzilla, Oun P, Emillio Rojas, Nico the Beast, Push Montana, Esso, Savkils, and D Malone. The producers on it are Drawzilla, Dj Kepp, Sev da Producer, and Mystro. It was distributed by Coast to Coast, big look! There really isn't a difference, its just a time line of my experiences - where I was, where I am, and where I am going, so follow me.
iR: You have also been working with some heavy weight producers on the low, can you give us a sneak peak as to who your in studio with and what the next project is?
SO: I'm gonna keep that on the hush for now, but we have some of NYC's platinum plus on the project as well as some of the hottest up and coming cats, your gonna have to wait for the end result can't give it up yet.
iR: What is it about Sic Osyrus that makes people want to pay attention?
SO: I think its because a lot of people can relate to the things I talk about in some facet. Not to mention, I'm the best at being me, so I don't follow a trend or certain type of fad, I just do what Sic do.
iR: What are some of the strategic things you're doing to ensure your relevance in this crop of up and coming East Coast hip hop acts?

SO: We're always looking for the best way to a better push, but my main priority is to show face, create heat and staying focus. Basically just keep moving forward, make good records, build the relationships, contacts and buzz until they come for me.

iR: Where can we find you online?

SO: Myspace.com/Sicosyrus1
iR: Any last shouts?
SO: Yeah, IMG stand up, Construct whatt up!
