Nero and the good folks over at the WaveClub threw up a review of TreaZon's upcoming mixtape 9 Steps which drops Monday.
Check it out after the jump.
I’ve known of TreaZon for a long time. He’s written a lot of songs, and kicked a lot of raps; but this new project, 9 Steps, is a collection of compositions that surpass not only his previous work, but a lot of music currently coming out. Completely built up of production by 9th Wonder, TreaZon creates a smooth, eclectic tone and ambiance for his project. Lyrically, he’s in rare form, and seems to be flexing his songwriting from start to finish. “Lucid Dreaming pt. 1″ sets a creamy sheet of sound to set off the project, laced with an abstract bed of lyrics that feature TreaZon flying around. But it isn’t all floating and stars. Tracks like “Sailor Moon,” that feature me and Threatz, exemplify lyrical braggadocio, aswell as “Shine” & “Close Your Eyes.” The premise of the project relies on the concept of Divine Comedy, and uses freeform thought processes to make a great mixtape. Do yourself a favor, and pick it up when it releases on March24th.
