Inside I sat down with Termanology to speak on his tours, our illRoots Family M. Will, and much more.iR: Since last we spoke its been about a year and a half and alot has happened since then obviously your getting ready to drop Time Machine on September 22. How do you feel this might deviate from your previous projects?
Term: I don't know man, to tell you the truth I just wanted to drop something for the fans. I was going to drop the Fizzy Womack and Termanology album.
iR: Yea I was looking forward to that.
Term: Yea Fizzyology is done but the M.O.P. album had to come out first so they come out September 13th with The Foundation and then we can start wrapping up the Fizzyology project and putting that out. That might not be until next year so I was like look I have a whole album worth of shit I'd rather put that out for the fans instead of just sitting on it so I'm putting out the Time Machine.
iR: What can we expect from this project then?
Term: Okay, I gotta joint on their with Sheek Louch and Quest The Youngin that is out of this world. I got a joint on their that is produced by The Alchemist that is called "I See Dead People", we just shot a video with John Columbo for that one. The concept for that is so crazy, it looks like a movie and I'm walking through a cemetery and I'm the grim reaper and I'm pointing to graves and you see how each person dies. So In the video you have actors playing the dead people. I have a joint called "Hold That" with Pete Rock that was supposed to be on my last album but we couldn't get that done in time so it ended up on this one. I have a joint with M. Will The Shogun thats Marley Marls son.
iR: Yea thats the homie, his first project he dropped was serious.
Term: What I like about him is that he's like 15 or 16 and he's so hungry and tremendously talented. Its like his shit sounds right already and I can't wait to see what he does in the future. I got a chance to work with him at his young stages and we have a joint called "God's World" that is so crazy where he sample Michael Jackson and its pretty much saying how God made the world and that we fucked it up and I can't wait for you to hear that Hallway its one of the crazier joints on the album. I got alot of people on their Joell Ortiz, Crooked I, Royce Da' 5' 9'', Lil Fame obviously, I got my S.T. the Squad is always on my shit, Statik Selecktah he's family. Also I'm bringing a new guy into the game he's a producer name Short Fuze he did four records on the album.

iR: The M. Will song that you did on his project is one of my favorite tracks on his project the "Nothing Iz Real".
Term: Yea thats on Time Machine as well, thank you. Mad funny we just did that song out of no where like fuck it and that shit ended up getting high praise.
iR: Will is talented but he's got some big shoes to fill, I think he'll be fine though.
Term: Yea I mean his pops is Marley Marl one of the creators of Hip-Hop and the dude that really created sampling drums like one of the first producers. Like DJ Premeir and those cats look up to Marley Marl and he's that dude.
iR: So you say you got a new producer by the name of Short Fuze who your putting on this project, what do you see in this producer that stands out?
Term: The thing I like about Short Fuze is his natural talent he could just make a beat in like five or ten minutes and it will sound so crazy and he has a sure sound and believes in himself. He knows how to chop up samples and still make beats from scratch so if we were doing a movie score and I need something I could call him or if I needed a spanish song with Tony Touch I could call him he's very versatile. I manage him so I'm just trying to help him get out there.
iR: For sure, so you came out for M.O.P. at Rock The Bells a little time ago, Whats your thoughts on how Rock The Bells is being run this year?
Term: I think its great I had some great times at Rock The Bells this year, I think that is the true definition of Hip-Hop. Its Common, Nas, M.O.P. I mean the list goes on who wouldn't want to be at that show the entire thing is crack. I could have done the New York show too but I just bought a new van for the company so we've been kind of tied up working on that all week. M.O.P. is fam all day they brought me out in Switzerland this past month so its all good. We are about to be out in Europe for a month.
iR: So your headlining at Hip-Hop Kemp this year?
Term: Yes its me and Method Man he goes right after me. Meth is my man already so its all love.
iR: Lyrically I think they are putting people in boxes and saying "Okay so-and-so is a straight lyrical dude, and this guy he's know for all this type of music". Whats your feeling about some of the newer projects dropping? Who do you see right now that catches your eye?
Term: I think I'd have to be around a magazine to actually say some folks because its not alot of folks that actually stick out to me. People that I have respect and like I've pretty much liked them for more than a year. I guess its not fair to cal them new, although I like Drake, he's new, I'm really happy with Slaughterhouse I think that movement coincides with what me and Statik Selektah are trying to do as far as raw lyrics. Those guys all got props before, so I guess you got me there.
iR: So when people see you and say "Oh its just Termanology and your going to get that 90's sound", what do you say to that?
Term: Alot of folks don't listen to the music and just pass judgement and have their own notions. Really whatever type of music you want to do has to reflect you and if you want a certain crowd expect to get the crowd that you play for. If you want all the ladies to love you then be an R&B dancehall type dude. I like T-Pain shit too that shit is fun in the clubs I just don't make that type of shit. I would like to make some songs with people like that but I just handle it as it comes and the shit that comes natural to me is destroying the microphone. I just kill mics and body rappers and in the meantime I'm going to make good songs for the people.
iR: Well thanks for sitting down with me and I look forward to hearing your new records.
Term: Anytime and thanks for the love.
