As usual another Beatnick & K-Salaam production is coming directly off of illRoots.com, check and see what K-Salaam had to say about this one:
This time it's strictly the classics. And no I'm not talking about Pete Rock and CL Smooth "T.R.O.Y" I'm talking about: Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Al Green, Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield, The Temptations, Smokey Robinson, The Spinners, etc... The name of this project is appropriately titled "Never Can Say Goodbye." ....Because, although we can never say goodbye to the classics, we can remix them by bringing some new ideas to an already classic sound. I know, it's risky. But we haven't heard any complaints yet. By the way, none of these tracks have samples in them. (Including the entire Common Remix Album, yes, even the horns are not sampled.) Everything played by Beatnick aka "The Young Mozart of Hip-Hop."
We'll leak the entire song soon enough. Just be patient.
In the meantime, for those who live in NY, come check me out tomorrow (Friday) at Imperial (17 W 19th St in Manhattan.) I'm also going to be spinning Monday at B.B. King's alongside: Talib Kweli, Idle Warship, Blu and Exile. That show is gonna be crazy. (Produced by Jill Newman.) More on that show to come
