On Saturday, Deputy Industry Minister Xin Guobin of China announced that his ministry is working toward ceasing production of gasoline and diesel cars. China has joined France and Britain in this initiative, who plan on stopping sales of these by 2040. China hasn't announced an end date, but is working to develop better technology for electric cars.
