A.O. - Back Against The Wall (Artwork + Tracks)

Large

Tomorrow we are dropping Back Against The Wall by Delaware's own A.O.
I got the pleasure of listening to the mixtape ahead of time and I broke down some joints to really look for on this tape after the jump. The overall feeling of this tape is very epic as the intro is rather generic as A.O shouts out each person that he feels has contributed to his career thus far. The majority of this, production wise, is all Witness and Multi-Platinum producer Herb Middleton. You should remember Herb's production for Nas, Method Man, Mary J. Blige but he along with producers Witness, Jay Classik, Ras, and Problum Child have some definite stand out tracks on this tape that shouldn't be looked over:
1. Heartbreak (featuring Dominique Young)(Prod. by Herb Middleton) - As we have seen before Middleton has had several accolades from R&B-esque tracks and this should be no different. Dominique Young adds a very crossover appeal and very applicable single material. A.O. doesn't shy away from bringing anything lyrically either. The piano on this track bring reminiscent thoughts of early 90's rapper/singer songs that were the classics of that time period.
2. Be Ez (Prod. by Problum Child) -A rapid braggadocios song centered around a very high energy bass line. The overall fast pace club feel keeps the tape moving along where others may settled for an average club banger this one will more than likely do well as a B-side.
3. Its Real (Prod. by Ras) - Despite a repetitive sample this song is very dope with a retrospective AO.
4. What You Pushin - This anthem brings the same epic sound that you heard at the beginning of the tape, but definitely one of my favorite tracks it almost has an early Ruff Ryders feel once you get to the verse.
Look forward to the entire tape dropping tomorrow right here at illRoots.com.
